Katrina Neumann

Katrina Neumann began her career as a contemporary artist while working in nonprofits, arts institutions, galleries, and as an artist studio assistant in NYC. As an artist, Katrina Neumann exhibited internationally and was awarded in both photography and design. Neumann received degrees from SUNY Purchase College and SMFA at Tufts University. She has taken extra courses with General Assembly, Harvard University Business School, the Goethe Institut, and indigenous Xochimilco artists.

Through her time developing her career as an artist, she attended several artist residencies which inspired her to create the startup "Rate My Artist Residency" to promote equality in opportunities, transparency of the industry, and to support artists in their careers. Three years later, this led to growing the website with the assistance of NEW INC. and two co-founders, Kira Simon-Kennedy and Sebastien Sanz de Sanatamaria.  "Rivet" is a free search engine platform for organizations to post opportunities and for artists to find opportunities with an emphasis on funding-first and vetting on the basis of giving time, space, and/or money. During their time developing the startup marketplace, they gave university lectures and workshops at art schools, participated in international industry-based conferences, received a fellowship with MADE in NY Media Center, and they were supported by the Kate Spade and Company Foundation through NEW INC.
