Becky Schutt

Becky is a strategist in the international creative industries and has advised over 65 flagship cultural organizations, governments and pioneering start-ups in over twenty countries. She is particularly interested in how creative social enterprises, the artistic process, and intercultural dialogue can be a driving force in solving society’s most complex challenges.

She led Developing Inclusive & Creative Economies (DICE) at the British Council (2018-2021), the UK’s international organization for cultural relations. Co-delivered in Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, South Africa and the UK and with a commitment to experimentation, redressing power dynamics, and using interdisciplinary approaches, DICE built the capacity of 22,000 policy-makers, creative-social entrepreneurs and intermediaries. The program was cited as a 'bold innovation in international development' by Prof. JP Singh and a 'model of 21st century leadership' by the British Council Advisory Board.

As Fellow at University of Cambridge Judge Business School (2009-2017), she established and taught the MBA Cultural and Arts Concentration, nurturing the next generation of arts leaders, board members and investors. She initiated the UK's National Relaxed Performance Project (2011-2013), catalyzing a movement in theatre access for people with severe autism; and today is Trustee of Arts and Homelessness International and Crossing Borders Education.

She is currently collaborating with AMUZN, a creative tech start-up; Nesta Arts & Culture Finance on impact investment; and King’s College London on academic/artist partnerships. She began her career aboard Artrain USA and the Newark Museum, and received her MBA from the University of Cambridge.
