Antariksha Studio is a transmedia collective that crafts indie video games, films, installations, and performances with a focus on the multicultural heritage of India. Their speculative designs deploy ethical worldbuilding scenarios, ethnographic research methods, and alternative business models to create Indofuturist narratives and next-gen characters centered around the themes of activism, pluralism, and sustainability. Represented at NEW INC by Avinash Kumar (Founder and Director) and Ami Mehta (Researcher and Producer), Antariksha Studio’s multidisciplinary team includes artists, animators, dancers, designers, game designers, programmers, researchers, and musicians. They  use remixing to explore overlooked connections between the classical and cutting-edge — foregrounding the inclusion of marginalized communities and endangered artistic traditions in their game design, virtual production, animation, motion capture, photogrammetry, and interactive storytelling experiments. Antariksha Studio has received seed grants from Epic Games, Pro Helvetia, and The British Council. Their work has been showcased at Sheffield DocFest, IndieCade, Rolling Stone India, and VICE among other platforms.
