Sarah Rothberg
Sarah Rothberg is an artist and educator who works with interactive media, most often with immersive experiences like virtual/augmented reality and computer mediated performance, as well as low-tech experiences like workshops and installation. Rothberg’s artwork has been shown internationally in at venues ranging from Tribeca to bitforms gallery, CES, and Sotheby's. Rothberg’s work critically engages with embodiment, the impact of new media, and the relationship between the personal and complex systems.
Currently, Rothberg is full-time faculty at NYU ITP/IMA. In the past, Rothberg co-developed and led an XR masterclass at the Onassis STEGI Foundation, and was the featured artist and co-creator for Apple's [AR]t session, which runs at Apple stores internationally. Rothberg has been a NEW INC member with Rhizome/Bell Lab's EAT track, an artist-in-residence with Harvestwoks, Mana Contemporary, and Adobe, and has advised creative technologists ranging from machine learning start ups, to hardware developers, to emerging new media artists.
