Annie-B Parson
Annie-B Parson is the choreographer of the OBIE and Bessie award winning Big Dance Theater. With Big Dance, she has created large scale works for such venues as BAM, The Japan Society, The Old Vic/London, Sadler’s Wells/London, The Walker, The National Theater/Paris, The Walker Museum, The Kitchen. Parson has made choreography for rock shows, marching bands, movies, museums, objects, TV, augmented reality, opera, ballet, theater, symphony orchestras, string quartets, and a chorus of 1,000 amateur singers. Artists that Parson has worked with include David Bowie, David Byrne, St. Vincent, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Wendy Whelan, Anne Carson, Jonathan Demme, Suzann Lori Parks, Salt n Pepa, Laurie Anderson, Esperanza Spalding and Martha Graham Dance Co. Work with David Byrne includes three of his world tours, American Utopia/Broadway, and Spike Lee’s concert movie of American Utopia. She tours a lecture: The Body in Space. She received a Guggenheim and a Doris Duke Artist Award.
