Program Overview
NEW INC’s program is dedicated to growing creative practitioners into creative entrepreneurs.
Through varied learning models and a human-centered curriculum, we invite multidisciplinary creatives to develop the skills, tools, and tactics they need to sustain their work. Our program incubates people by supporting projects at a point of growth or change, and by imparting practical knowledge and innovative thinking that critiques the extremes of traditional art institutions and start-up culture.
From start to finish, our program integrates a value-centric approach to creative thinking and entrepreneurship. We take a holistic attitude toward personal and professional development that empowers our community to be agents of social change in their practice and in the world.
At minimum, every member at NEW INC is provided with the tools to emerge from our program with the following:
Purpose and Values: What are you doing and why are you doing it; what is the constant that guides your decision-making process
Mission Statement: Who you are, what you stand for, why it matters
Pitch Deck: A succinct story for sharing your mission
Business Model: A framework for facilitating success, including a competitive understanding of your landscape
Business Entity: A way to make money, file taxes, protect yourself
Website: Who you are, what you do, how to contact you, your own URL

Professional Development
NEW INC runs annually from September-August. Our professional development program builds proficiency in business fundamentals and cultivates leadership confidence. Our curriculum takes the form of multi-day intensives, workshops, panel discussions, coaching sessions, clinics and peer working groups.
Programs are taught by industry leaders, artists, activists and scholars who lead open conversations about the changing nature of culture, technology, and business. Exposure to experts, funders and leaders in art, design and technology helps our members shape their practices and safely experiment with new approaches. Through the program, members are free to explore, catalyze new ideas, and scale their practices while contributing to the NEW INC ecosystem.
Selected members also have the opportunity to present at NEW INC’s Demo Day, a showcase that puts members in front of a select audience of funders, creative directors, curators and industry leaders. Demo Day presenters participate in a rigorous program to craft a clear, unforgettable pitch.
“NEW INC gave me the confidence to go out and talk about the future as an artist - and to be taken seriously. My practice is now based on that confidence.”
— Stephanie Dinkins,
Year 3 & 5 Incubator Member

Mentorship
Join the NEW INC community! Our mentor open call is now closed. Please check back in July 2025 for our next round.
Through our mentor-in-residence program, dedicated mentorship, and office hours consultations, NEW INC members work with mentors to achieve strategic goals and solve tactical challenges. Mentors act as empathetic sounding boards, helping our members to contextualize their experience and chart a course for individualized growth. Through ongoing feedback and guidance, mentors are a critical point of accountability as members pursue new major projects or a sustainable business model.
